Not all spendings created equally. Some spendings bring happiness yet some disappoint sometimes. Let me share my top five best spendings in 2020 and the five spendings that disappoint me the most.
My top 5 best spendings (not rank in sequence):
1. 2 Mossery Half Year Undated Planner Refill (2 for RM65.71)

My planner for 2020 was in A6 size, which I selected because it is small and easy to carry around. However, I found that sometimes it looks untidy or I will unconsciously write down lesser.
I bought two Mossery half-year, undated planner refills and planned to try it out in a bigger size. It supposes to be planner refill for the collection of Mossery beautiful planner covers. But I just got the refills.
It turns out I liked them well after using for two months plus. Each planner has seven months instead of six months, so I started using in November 2020.
The planner is threadbound came in Navy blue cover with rounded corner design. The best thing is it can be opened flat. The paper is smooth. The only issue is although the ink does not bleed through, they show through pretty obvious which I wish they don’t.
2. One quart of Baskin Robbins Ice Cream (RM39.90)

Such a good deal! I got a quart of Baskin Robbins for RM39.90 during the Black Friday Sale. (Usual price is RM59.90).
Good ice cream makes me a happy girl.
3. Arkadia Chai Tea Matcha (180g for RM18.90)

I discover this instant chai matcha powder while I am in college. Ever since then, I will get them once in a while.
This Chai Matcha satisfied my craving for cafe Matcha latte during the stay home stay safe period. 180g serve around 6 to 10 servings depends on how flavourful you want.
4. Credits for a Creator site (2 short novels – RM9.62)
It’s a site where writers or creators publish their novels. Website or app user can support the work of the creators by using the website credits.
I get to read their works online with no time limit after I purchased them.
5. Website Hosting & Domain (1 year for RM252.07)
The website hosting and domain fee for this website. RM252.07 for a year, I treated it as an investment to learn how to start and run a website.
I hope to share my journey and create more value for others in 2021.
My top 5 bad spendings (not rank in sequence):
1. Mini lemons (RM5.20)
I got the organic local homegrown mini lemons from a farmers market. The lemons are fine.
The problem is I got the lemons just because I feel like buying something from the market. In the end, I did not enjoy the lemons either. Ouch, I shall learn and avoid this kind of spendings in future.
2. Scam Trial Subscription (RM6.30)
I read a post about Python early of 2020. I think it was a marketing post to market a Python class online. At the end of the post, they offered a trial subscription to the Python class for only RM6.30.
Without thinking much, I scanned the QR code and paid for the RM6.30. The course seems legit as the website stated the trial was a short trial class less than one hour for beginners. It does make sense as nowadays online courses market their product this way.
Everything seems fine in the beginning, the customer service arranged a “tutor” to guide me. However, there was no response from the “tutor”. I could not contact the customer service either. At this point, I realised I got scammed.
Luckily, it just RM6.30 not RM630 or RM6,300.
3. Takeaway Sushi (6 pcs sushi roll for RM37.12)
I had a social event at a medium price range Japanese restaurant. I ordered takeaway sushi.
The food they served there tasted fine. The only issue was the waiters served my takeaway sushi at the beginning of the meal. The food was not completely served yet they served the takeaways.
The social event lasted around 3 hours. In the end, when I got home, the sushi doesn’t taste fresh anymore.
I’m not too sure whether is this the usual dining experience. I always got my takeaway last, no matter I am at the kopitiam or at the restaurant without mention anything to the seller or waiters.
I guess I will need to remind the waiters to serve the takeaway last next time.
